Born in his eighties into the body of a child, Nino Cotone lives (but only in appearance) an inverse life. Victim of a curious twist of fate, he faces childhood as if he were an old man and old age as if he were a child. He has with him a suitcase in which he has collected the memories of his strange life. He wants to tell it before forgetting, before falling into an eternal present, that of newborns who have no perception of time passing.
In Pino Tierno's adaptation, F. S. Fitzgerald's extraordinary modern tale, which questions the meaning of life, takes place in Italy, from the Unification to the early 1970s.
