For Nicolas Altstaedt, eclectic cellist and Franco-German conductor, last season was lavish with successes, including debuts with the London Philharmonic, the Münchner Philharmoniker, the Symphonieorchester des Bayrische Rundfunks, the RAI Orchestra and the 'Orchester des Champs-Élysées. In the double role of soloist and conductor of the OTO Altstaedt presents two superb pages for orchestra such as the Concerto that Shostakovič dedicated in 1959 to Rostropovich and Beethoven's Third, inspired by the exploits of Napoleon.
