Calogero Di Spelta, a betrayed husband, with his mania for control and his inability to love and trust, becomes a mirror of the challenges and difficulties of contemporary man in the field of relationships. A man driven by an obsessive feeling, lost in a world that seems equally confused, with the constant need to cling to granite certainties, at the cost of symbolically locking them up in a box. A closed place interpreted by Di Spelta as a safe place, a second prison as a solution for his relationship, to defeat his fears, his uncertainties and the obsessions that permeate our modern society.
On the other hand, Otto Marvuglia, magician and manipulator, a less "sweet" character in writing than he is on stage when softened by the interpretation by Eduardo himself. The Marvuglia/illusion, the Marvuglia/reality, the Marvuglia/impostor are the always different and interchangeable faces that modify Girolamo Di Spelta's context and perception of reality, resulting in a continuous short circuit that confuses the level of illusion with that of reality, destabilizing the characters themselves and the spectators. The characters are lost, the spectators are lost, the men and women of today are lost, lost in relationships, lost in the continuous blending of truth and falsehood. What is true? What is fake?
