The Austrian pianist Rudolf Buchbinder, awarded in his country with a dozen high honors, has been performing for 60 years in theaters all over the world interpreting the greats of piano literature of all times with his unmistakable style whose characteristic features are spontaneity, respect for tradition, freedom and a remarkable open-mindedness. At the center of the program are Beethoven's famous Diabelli Variations, combined with other variations on the same theme commissioned by Buchbinder from contemporary authors.
