In his work The Red Shoes, for the Nuovo Balletto di Toscana, the young choreographer Philippe Kratz approaches the complicated and strangely indissoluble interweaving between object and human being that fuels the powers of seduction and threatens a loss of autonomy.
Philippe Kratz's ballet follows the chronology of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Red Shoes, but brings the scenery to the present day, focusing more on the relationship between the protagonist Karen and the things around her.
