In anticipation of the thirtieth edition of the "New Conversations-Vicenza Jazz" festival, five artists with legendary careers, five masters of their instruments, come together to embark on a musical journey that will touch the most evocative venues in Italy and Europe. Peter Erskine is one of the most influential drummers in jazz, with a career spanning over 50 years. A precocious talent, he was part of groups that shaped jazz history, such as Weather Report and Steps Ahead, and has collaborated with huge names in jazz and beyond (Stan Getz, Chick Corea, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, Jaco Pastorius, Michael Brecker, Barbra Streisand, Pino Daniele). As part of the most celebrated Weather Report lineup (with Zawinul, Shorter, and Pastorius), he contributed to albums such as "8:30" and "Night Passage," both of which won Grammys. For this project, Erskine reunites with Mike Mainieri, the legendary vibraphonist and founder of Steps Ahead.
