Directly from Salento, the famous Notte della Taranta lands in Vicenza, with all its procession of possessed dancers, wild dancers and the necessary side dish of singers and musicians committed to unleashing an apotheosis of dance with their increasingly whirling pizzica rhythms. The Popular Orchestra "La Notte della Taranta" is the official expression of the homonymous and famous festival, inaugurated in 1998 and over time it has become the largest event dedicated to popular music in Italy. The musical flow releases a primordial energy, starting from its essential key, the rhythm of the tambourine, which allows musicians, dancers and listeners to vibrate in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. The social and therapeutic function of pizzica, called to exorcise today's ills, is thus updated and recontextualized.
