Al Di Meola is among the most important guitarists of our time. His proven ability to mix and match rhythmic complexities with melodic lyricism and a sophisticated use of harmony has been fascinating for about fifty years, ever since he appeared on the scene with Chick Corea & Return To Forever. Since then his career has been marked by continued critical recognition, four gold albums, two platinum albums, six million records sold worldwide, as well as various awards including an honorary degree from the Berklee College of Music, the Honorary Miles Davis Award received at the Montreal Jazz Festival, a BBC Lifetime Achievement Award and numerous Grammy nominations.

As an instrumentalist, Al Di Meola has been the subject of the most prestigious guitar awards, including 12 first places in Guitar Player magazine polls and, almost as a consequence, inclusion in the Guitar Player Gallery of Greats.

Among the groups that have marked his career, after Return to Forever, the celebrated acoustic guitar trio with colleagues John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucia, then the "Rite of Strings" trio with bassist Stanley Clarke and violinist Jean-Luc Ponty. At the Olimpico in Vicenza he presents himself with his usual acoustic trio, with the second guitarist, Peo Alfonsi, and with the percussionist Sergio Martinez.
