HÀ-BI-TUS is a choreography that explores the theme of identity through the interpretation of two extraordinary dancers. An invitation to reflect on how many times we metaphorically wear clothes that do not belong to us, adapting to inherited or imposed behaviors and ideas, often without being fully aware of it. An intense and profound look at the power of choice, which guides us towards a path of discovery and acceptance of our authentic nature.
Alessandra Ruggeri studies classical dance, contemporary dance and then HipHop and HouseDance, specializing in 2011 at NOHA–NationOfHumanArts and in 2018 graduating from the UDA Urban Dance Academy in Rome. She deepens her knowledge of Floorwork and Contact Impro techniques between Brussels and Paris. Since 2018 she has been dancing in the DaCru Dance Company. In 2022 she reaches the final of the CICBUNY Competition (Spain) as co-choreographer and dancer of the pas de deux The Conversation and finalist at the Cerati Award. As choreographer of the performance HÀ-BI-TUS she wins the First Prize in Choreographic Composition at GubbioDanzWeek 2023 and the Production Award; with the same work in 2024 she is a guest at the FUTUROFestival in Rome, a finalist at RIDCC in Rotterdam, selected by Anticorpi XL, a finalist at Prospettiva Danza Teatro, a semifinalist at the CICBUNY competition in Burgos.
