Michele Ifigenia and her company Tyche propose an interesting reinterpretation of The Bacchae by Euripides. On stage a pair of dancers aims to represent the community of women who climbed Mount Citerone to celebrate the god of theater. These bacchantes wear modern boots and trousers and move in unison in a frenetic manner, recalling both the Dionysian ecstasy and the progressive loss of importance of the chorus in Greek theater.

A powerful solo inspired by the figure of the Cumaean Sibyl, legendary priestess of Apollo, evoked in a contemporary key through the body of the dancer-prophet. The possession that expresses the sudden change in her movements is the result of the incarnation of the divinity, which with its presence transfigures her features in a fast choreographic progression. The energy that comes from it takes the possibilities of dance to the extreme and transports the audience to an ancestral universe with an intense and penetrating atmosphere.
Since 2015, Michele Ifigenia Colturi has been combining university studies in modern literature with theater studies. He collaborates with the Kerkis Teatro Antico Association, studying the possible representability of classical texts. He attends and studies with some historical theatrical institutions: Teatro Valdoca, Societas Raffaello Sanzio. In 2020 he graduates as a dancer-choreographer at the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi with the work Fisica dell’aspra comunione by Claudia Castellucci. In these years of artistic training he works and studies with various choreographers and teachers: Maria Consagra, Alessio Maria Romano, Olivier Dubois, Paola Lattanzi, Emanuela Tagliavia, Ariella Vidach, Silvia Rampelli, Cesc Gelabert.
