Angela's life is absurd and incomprehensible, like that of each of us.
As a girl many dreams and passions made her heart beat, but the rigid lines of family and society have led her to a situation that is like a bitter pill stuck in her throat, and it goes neither up nor down.
Today more than ever: she returned to Milan for the office dinner, but the return of vacationers from the sea blocks her in line towards Roncobilaccio. Angela curses all those people, she also curses the sea they come from. And she still has her mouth open when an impossible wave takes her away, overwhelming and turning her life upside down. In a vortex out of this world and out of space, where she finds herself spinning together with a strange and old-fashioned guy, Montfort, who comes from another nation and another century, and they have in common only that they don't know how they got there .
Thus begins their journey, which wave after wave will slam them to experience the adventures of women and men who instead have had the courage to embrace the sea and life as a single, amazing wonder.

Like Don Francesco Negri, a forty-year-old parish priest who set out from Ravenna in the seventeenth century and reached the North Pole on foot. Like little Tommy Piccot, a novice fisherman and abused by his older colleagues, who in times of danger will be the only one who has the courage to face the Great Unknown, and bring him before the eyes of the world. Along with them sailors from the Antilles, solitary custodians of provincial museums who resurrect animals that have been dead for millennia, dreamy kids harassed by classmates, grandmothers who talk to their dead husbands at dinner, girls who stop walking to avoid stepping on ants...
Unknown but fundamental lives, incredible but very true, linked by having wholeheartedly believed in the existence of an animal so huge and far from normal that for millennia it was considered a legend: the giant squid.

In their shoes, Angela and Montfort live their battles, exalt themselves in their triumphs and despair at the tragic ruins, in a story that splashes across the centuries and continents using all the languages offered by the narrative: images, sets, music, dance ...in a passionate embrace that reaches hearts of all ages, from the young to those who are young at heart. And if the giant squid exists in the world, then there is no longer a dream that is unattainable, an intractable battle, an impossible love.
For Angela and Montfort, and for anyone who gets on board this show, which pushes us to go forward, or wherever the winds and currents and passions take us, to the surprising, amusing, moving discovery of the wonders of Nature and therefore of us themselves. Because the most incredible story of all is reality.
