Marc Ribot has released six solo albums, most notably The Book of Heads (1995, in which he performs compositions by John Zorn), Saints (2001) and the most recent in the series, Silent Movies (2010). But even with so many traces left behind, Ribot continues to be the unpredictable musician he has always been: each of his live solo performances makes history in itself and it is not known what to expect, between the re-emergence of sound memories, total improvisation noise interference. Certainly Ribot knows how to keep the listener in suspense waiting for the unraveling of the sound events, between mystery and surprise.
