Igort, in addition to being one of the great masters of international comics - among the protagonists of the Italian indie scene of the 80s (Linus, Alter Alter, Frigidaire) and a leading figure in graphic journalism - is also a screenwriter, director and musician. His I dispacci di Delmore is a project balanced between reading and immersion in music, a reflection on the American dream - on its myth and its decadence - inspired by Delmore Schwartz, an American poet and writer, mentor of Lou Reed: a figure who influenced writers such as Nobel Prize winner Saul Bellow and Philip Roth, to name just a few.
From this starting point, a fresco of words and sounds that concern some prominent figures of American culture in the second half of the twentieth century, poets and artists outside the box, independent from the mainstream, whose influence is still present throughout contemporary culture. Among these, the poets Silvia Plath and Anne Sexton, illustrious exponents of confessional poetry; artists like the father of pop art Andy Warhol and radical writers like William Burroughs; singers and musicians who have written the history of rock like Lou Reed and Alan Vega, founder of Suicide; icons like Nico and tragic figures like the star of the golden age of porn cinema Kandi Barbour.
